Our Dog Scout Troop meetings have ended for the fall ‘08 season. Enjoy the holidays, stay warm and keep practicing! Even if you don’t have agility equipment set up at home, stay fresh on the obedience work. You can work on shaping what your dog knows. It will be especially useful on the agility course to work seriously with marker training during the winter break. Any kind of work will keep your bond with your dog strong.
We will meet again in the spring of ‘09 starting in March. And, hopefully, we won’t get rained out on most of our meeting dates as we did in spring of ’08. We will include troop meetings geared toward adults for the first time in the spring of ‘09. So far, this troop has been exclusively for jr. handlers.
Our agility equipment consists of two sets of weave poles, a standard jump, a pause table, a barrel tunnel, a tire jump and, our newest piece is a competition-grade long tunnel. We look forward to adding equipment that will require contact training (a see-saw and/or A-frame) this spring. We have come a long way since the inception of our troop in fall of ’07—thanks to all the members and all who have offered support!
